Chandigarh | July 29: Writer and poet Mandeep Kaur has presented a thought-provoking vision of harmony through her poem “Path to Unity”, featured in her book Conscious Unity. The poem encourages readers to look beyond divisions of language, customs, and rituals, emphasizing that compassion, understanding, and love form the true foundation of spiritual unity.
Spread across two pages, the poem reflects on the common tendency of people to associate spirituality with particular languages, symbols, or traditions. It suggests that while different faiths follow different practices, the ultimate destination is the same—inner peace and a direct connection with the Divine.
Through verses such as “Don’t stick to one language before you start your journey” and “You don’t need a compass to seek direction,” the poem conveys that no single language or ritual has a monopoly over spirituality. It further states that a true friend—or the Divine—needs no rituals to understand one’s heart, highlighting sincerity over ceremony.
The latter half of the poem shifts its focus to values that transcend religious and cultural boundaries. It calls upon readers to reject unnecessary disputes over which path is superior, reminding them that “Differences never bring peace; Peace is born from unity.” The poem also advocates forgiveness, mercy, compassion, and humility as the qualities that lead humanity toward genuine harmony.
According to the author, Path to Unity is not a critique of any religion or tradition but an invitation to appreciate the shared human values that connect people across all faiths. The work encourages readers to move beyond labels and embrace universal love, respect, and coexistence.
Published in Conscious Unity, the poem reflects Mandeep Kaur’s broader literary focus on spirituality, self-reflection, and the search for inner peace.
