Chandigarh, July 2: Punjab has completed the distribution of 97.44 per cent of enumeration forms under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) reaching over 2.09 crore electors across the state, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mrs. Anindita Mitra said on Thursday.
The CEO said that between June 25 and July 1, BLOs distributed enumeration forms to 2,09,12,619 electors out of Punjab’s total electorate of 2,14,61,043. The exercise is being carried out by 24,453 BLOs through door-to-door visits across the state.
Mrs. Mitra said the BLOs are not only distributing the forms but are also assisting voters in filling them correctly to ensure accuracy and eliminate errors. She added that the collection of duly filled enumeration forms has already begun, while the digitisation of the received forms is also underway.
Appealing to voters to cooperate with the ongoing exercise, the CEO urged all electors to complete their enumeration forms and extend full support to BLOs so that the revision process can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
She informed that the house-to-house distribution of enumeration forms and the collection of completed forms will continue until July 24, 2026.
